Starting this May Half Term we're hosting Bushcraft Activities Courses at Embers Bentley.

Our aim is to engage and entertain your child everyday during half term by teaching them about Bushcraft. Everyday, children will learn a new skill outdoors from campfiew methods and cooking, designing and constuction their own natural man made shelter, knife safely and wood carving. 

Daily Program:

Monday - Fire: Basic fire craft and safely, how to lay a fire. Cook your own lunch and hot drinks.

Tuesday - Knives & Saws: Learn Knife Law and how to use a knife and saws safely. Harvest natural materials, wood carving and spoon making.

Wednesday - Shelter Building: Design and build a natural den, learn to use knots, make a manmade shelter with tarps and ropes.

Thursday - Food & Water: Learn to forage. Make you own Pizza & Bread. Learn how to source, filer and sterlisite water.

Friday - Ultimate Survival Challenge ( For those who attended Monday to Thursday session only) Make a safe and effectiver shelter, make and maintian a fire. Prepare and cook your own lunch and hots drinks. Find safe drinking water.

NB: The children will be using knives and saws on Tuesday. Full supervision will be given.

If you’re looking for an overnight stay under the stars, we’ve got you covered. Embers offers an array of accommodation to suit your needs - choose from a selection of charismatic canvas safari tents, pre-pitched with bedding provided, lights and carpets if needed – or get the group into teams to set up camp as a challenge. In the evening, the campfires light up to provide a magical experience under the stars, whilst keeping you snug and entertained.

We have new modern washrooms at the campsite; purpose-built, oak framed and complete with all the home comforts such as piping hot showers and underfloor heating. At Embers, we always take the greatest care of the environment as 95% of our on site energy is generated by Solar Power, materials are recycled to best practice and water saving devices such as flow limiters reduce water waste, so you can enjoy our campsite again and again and nature would not know you were there!

We can cater for groups large and small and for trips ranging from day adventures to overnight and full week stays in our safari bell tents, complete with campfires, catering and a huge range of learning and fun experiences.

We provide great meals which are made on site by our carefully selected chefs or, your own budding campfire chefs! Possibilities include pizzas our wood fired ovens which are always a favorite.

Pizza's are freshly made on site, using organic ingredients, in our Wood Fired Oven’s - a fantastic way to cater for your school or we’ll cook up a delicious campfire barbecue with locally sourced sausages and burgers.  We also provide a vegetarian option to suit your requirements.
