Our super-popular Pop-Up site, back again for 2019!
Embers Camping are delighted to offer our returning Pop-Up camp site on the stunning River Thames, just a short stroll from Temple Island and the glorious town of Henley on Thames. Located within the Henley Estate, Embers Henley is the perfect destination for either an action-packed or relaxing break.
From the comfort of your peaceful pitch, sit back by your own fire basket and watch life float by, and all within easy walking distance of Henley’s renowned Summer festivals.
There is a footpath that links the Embers Campsite directly to Henley, which is a real advantage when you stay with us. The walk is about 1.5 miles, taking about 20 minutes alongside the scenic riverbank.
Whether you decide to enjoy the local walks, get out on the river or explore the surrounding area, our local onsite staff can help you find the very best of what Henley has to offer. There's plenty to see and do, including the world-renowned Henley River Regatta and the Re-Wind Festival.
And a short walk along the tow-path will take you directly into the centre of Henley, with its abundance of one-off shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. If you fancy splashing out, try one of the local water taxis!
Located in the centre of Henley on Thames is the River & Rowing Museum. Opened by HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 and holding 20,000 items, the museum specialises in the sport of rowing, the history of Henley on Thames and everything you could possibly wish to know about the River Thames. The Wind in the Willows attraction is fabulous for families, with a stunning walk-through set and interactive displays.
The campsite is ideally located just outside Henley, on the banks of the River Thames. There is a footpath that links the Embers Campsite to Henley, which is a real advantage when you stay with us. The walk is about 1.5 miles taking about 20 minutes along the river, from where you can visit the local pubs and attractions in Henley.
We want you to enjoy your stay at Embers just as nature intended, but that doesn’t mean going without clean facilities. And so, as with all Embers Camping Pop-Up sites, you’ll find our modern showers and loos on site.
All our bathrooms are kept meticulously clean and have flushing toilets and piping hot showers…a real comfort when you are camping, leaving you refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead – but please don’t forget to bring your own towel, as these aren’t included.
There is a small but well-stocked shop on site, providing camping essentials such as milk, fresh bread, snacks, freshly ground coffee and bacon and eggs at reasonable prices. We’ve also got a fantastic ice cream freezer selling local ice cream in scoops and cones.
Be sure to feast on our freshly made wood-fired pizzas during your stay: keep an eye out for an email about 1 week before your arrival, as we’ll send out arrival instructions and a link to follow where you can pre-order pizzas for your upcoming stay (and because we do need to have a daily minimum and maximum pizza order number, it's a must to pre-order, and there may unfortunately be some evenings when pizzas aren’t available).
You'll find our site overlooking the River Thames nestled within the Henley Estate. With such a spectacular view, we'd hate to spoil it with cars so we ask that after unloading your vehicle you park in the overnight car-park for the duration of your stay.See More Info
